Steve Smith, born August 30, 1964, in Washington DC, was a star football player for DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville MD. He was inducted into the DeMatha Hall of Fame in 2004. Steve played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions and was a team captain for the Penn State 1986 National Championship team.
